I was walking by the pond planning to sketch some plants when I was almost hit in the face by these dragonflies. There were two of them violently clashing in the air, so I decided to vacate the premises before I got hit. They were some of the largest dragonflies I have ever seen their bodies by my estimate 3ish inches long. They were also bright blue (from the little I could see as they were moving quite fast) which made them eye-catching. In my journal what I wrote about them was "I retreat from the boardwalk. Big blue dragonflies are fighting and I am afraid they will bite me." I found this entry entertaining.
