Eating a Net-spinning Caddisflies (Family Hydropsychidae)
A call that I don't hear very often, probably because it isn't given at high volume (in my experience). I was able to get fairly close to these two birds who were feeding near my bug light.
Having never seen a Kit Fox before, sure would appreciate confirmation of this photo. I've seen plenty of Gray Fox and it doesn't seem to fit that. This animal walked out on the trail, let its curiosity get the best of it for a minute or so, then walked back into the brush. Beautiful animal.
2 seen at this location. Each 4-5 inches long.
Found 16 Ashmunella shells, most are mature and aged, in a 15 min search along the Comfort Spring drainage to the west of Ramsey Vista campground, Huachuca Mtns. Habitat is grassy and dirt hillside covered with leaf litter. Oak woodland plant community.

8mm diameter to shell. Found under a rock on a west facing slope of the Rincon Mountains. Possibly Sonorella rinconensis.
