Georgia: Vogel State Park

On the morning of June 18, 2017, I hiked maybe a mile round trip on a trail. The habitat was deciduous forest with an understory dominated by rhododendrons. The trail meandered along a small stream. I was primarily focused on looking under rocks and logs for salamanders, but I also took photos of fungi, plants, and insects.

Georgia: Dukes Creek Falls Trail

On the morning of June 17, 2017, I hiked one mile down this trail to the waterfalls and then back up this same trail. I stopped to photograph anything that looked interesting, with a particular focus on fungi, insects, and flowers. I was on the lookout for amphibians and reptiles too but found only a single snake. It took me about two hours to cover the two miles round trip because I was focused on taking pictures (10:00 AM - noon).
