I watched the large Tricolored Bumble Bee (a queen?) buzzing around in the area, and then all of a sudden it/she landed and walked right into this little hole in the ground. She backed partially out three or four times over the next few minutes, which allowed me to catch the photos of her in that space, but I didn't see her actually leave the hole. (I waited only four or five minutes, though. Mosquitoes were intense....)
