Additional comments? - injured Canada Goose ... limping and sone flight fearhers nearby suggest it was harmed by a predator (perhaps domestic dog or even Coyote). This bird has been on site for two days at the Schoolhouse property but is not being distrubed by students as it is staying in an area where young learners are bot allowed to be.

Field Notes - The Commonly named Bald faced hornet is actually a wasp and is related to yellow jackets. Having said that, from experience, this species is less aggressive than its cousins. Although seemingly hiding on the other aide of the blooms that my camera was on for almost 5 minutes one finally seemed resigned to the fact i would not leave without sone photos.

Field Notes - A Silver haired bat (Lasionycteris noctivagans) alongside the driveway at the natire centre. Approximately 10 cm in size and estimate wingspan at ~25-30 cm. Round ears. Dark brown, almost black fur with typical silver back. This species is known as a cavity nester and there are multiple dead trees with large wood pecker holes in thr mature forest surrounding the driveway. This nature centre is also on top of the Niagara Escarpment, a workd biosphere nature zone of UNESCO. While i have not seen this species in site and little is known locally of their local populations this is suitable habitat in this rural region.
