What
Northwestern Salamander (Ambystoma gracile)Observer
rowcatDescription
Found along edges of cattails close to path in Scudder Pond in Whatcom Falls park. Fairly confident these were amphibian egg masses. Found several more blobs further down the pond, though it was difficult to tell whether they were egg masses or old cattail inflorescences.
There were several frogs that hopped away from me as I looked, but I could not ID them.
What
Red-winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus)Observer
rowcatDescription
Found near Scudder Pond in Whatcom Falls park. There were many noisy blackbirds in the area, but this one decided to proclaim its loud song right next to the path!
What

What
Bushtit (Psaltriparus minimus)Observer
rowcatDescription
The photo is a difficult one, but this is a hanging nest of a bushtit. Watched of the of the parents fly in and out of the nest.
What
Sycamore Maple (Acer pseudoplatanus)Observer
rowcatDescription
Found next to path in forest in Whatcom Falls Park. This tree had obviously been pruned by park officials and was around the size of a medium shrub.
These leaves seems fully grown, so it's unlikely that it's a Big Leaf Maple, but they are much larger and have fewer points than a vine maple. I've never seen of of these trees and known it, despite all the claims in guide books I've seen saying they occur in our area!

Salmonberry (Rubus spectabilis)Observer
rowcatDescription
Found along several paths of Whatcom Falls Park, including the Southern path next to the cemetery.
Found on the edge of a clearing before some larger trees and shrubs.
What
Vanilla Leaf (Achlys triphylla)Observer
rowcatDescription
Found in the Southern end of Whatcom Falls Park, along the path close to the cemetery.
Path was surrounded by an open clearing with grasses and small plants, leading into large trees and shrubs and forests.
This plant was represented at the edge of the clearing next to the path, and showed up a few more times in the forested area of the park.
What

rowcatDescription
Found along the path into the Southern end of Whatcom Falls Park, next to the entrance for the cemetery.

Survey for the BP-owned marshlands near the Cherry Point Refinery.
I (Rowan) was not present for this survey, but these are observations from volunteer citizen scientists for the 2015 WCAMP Eggmass Survey.
This site appears to have been surveyed twice in this foray. It is unclear as to whether this particular site was divided up.
This particular data sheet had a confusing element: on the margins next to the data table were many encircled numbers labeled "All Tree Frog Masses." It is unclear whether they were redundant data or whether they were additional data. For now they've been ignored and only the data from the data table was taken.
