An Island first! I have been expecting my first Bluethroat at this exact spot on Qikiqtaruk for many years - and today it finally happened with this displaying male. My observations over the coming days would continue to see this male displaying here, as well as a few others, and ultimately lead to a female and the second-ever Bluethroat nest for Canada.

Ground nesting raptor-like bird flew away from the nest as I approached looking for a campsite. (Didn’t camp here, of course) any other ground nesting birds in Hudson Bay Lowlands? Spoke with an OBBA data collector down river and he suggested the ID.
