Me and Mum were exiting the apartment and then heard kookaburra calls from behind. This pair was perched outside the glass door. We couldn't even get the door open so not sure why they were there. They were content with just watching for a bit. We left before they did

Two wedge-tailed eagles and a brown falcon I think ( the not in this photo ) and one of the eagles with what looks like a ring-tailed possum. A chance photo opportunity driving home and quickly parking opposite George st as the birds moved from the north east with several circles up high gradually lowered height then moved to the south west towards nortons park. The possum looks like it’s been de furred.

Description
Once again a Lace Monitor came close to the Tawny Frogmouth nest here. Again, the male bird left the nest and I am now thinking this is a nest defence behaviour ie to lead the Goanna away from the nest and its chicks. Pic 1 shows the Goanna (another new one here that I have called 'Medusa') and the dad Froggie as it distracts the Goanna from the nest tree, pic 2 shows the two chicks left unguarded in the nest, pic 3 shows how eventually our local nesting Magpies helped drive away the Goanna. At time of posting the male Froggie is still some trees away from the nest. As previously, the nearby roosting female Froggie took no part in the incident.
