Growing on bark of ornamental cherry tree. Hash marks in first photo are 1 mm apart. Third photo shows yellow-green K staining of thallus. Fourth photo shows UV orange-red of thallus and apothecia. Fifth photo (400x) shows mostly 2-celled spores, averaging about 9x6 microns (hash marks about 2 microns apart). Keyed to Biatora key in Brodo's 2016 keys, but was unsuccessful in keying to species (or actual genus).

Lattice Tube Lichen (Hypogymnia incurvoides)Observer

I found these lichens on a rock!
At first glance I thought they were Hypogymnia physodes lichens, but they rarely grow on rocks.
These lobes are grey-blue and hollow.
But the tips of the lobes are not directed upward, with soredia on the underside, as in H. physodes. In this case, soredia are absent on these lichens.
Photo #3 shows openings in the tips of the lobes and the lichens look like lattices to me.
That's why I think they are Lattice Tube Lichen (Hypogymnia incurvoides)
