Northern Red Oak
Apparently due to a bacterial infection, maybe from the Wooly Catkin Gall Wasps ovipositing holes?
Not sure if there's a characteristic bacteria species that causes this.

i am quite doubtful that the snake can be identified, but any reports of snake from this area are good, especially if they are not Gartersnakes (I feel like this one is not a gartersnake as I can't see any stripes, but I am not familiar enough with snakes)

Leucistic. The bird was observed over a period of several weeks, travelling and calling with a charm of PUFIs. They were regularly around a neighbourhood feeder, with the leucistic individual clearly a member of the group but at the same time quite nervous relative to the other birds.
