Description
This juvenile starry night was just sitting out on the sand as we approached... I was able to take a bunch of photos before it went back into its den. Lovely little guy... can't wait for it to have its tell-tale while spots and larger body. For now, the tell-tale sign is the bulbous /odd shape of its mantle.

A Western Cleaner Clingfish, Cochleoceps bicolor, diligently guards the new generation. C. bicolor likes to deposit the eggs on a species of solitary ascidian. Unfortunately the acsidian behaves as a wildly oscillating metronome in the surge - it's tough duty just hanging on.

Owl seen hunting from approx 3pm-4:30. Was moving along and across the bike path, hunting from different perches, sometimes even just a few feet off the trail (or directly above trail briefly). Owl caught 2 snakes and 1 chipmunk while we watched it. After it got the 2nd snake (it's 3rd catch) it flew off deeper into the woods. Awesome experience, and lots of bypassers got to see the owl up close.
