Description
This is a very exciting find. You usually don't find Rubber Boas with this dark of coloration. I'm 99% sure this a male because of the good sized spurs. I found him on our property in the same little area I have found five others. This is also the first Rubber Boa that has ever musked on me.
Time: 7:45
Elevation: 3800ft
Weather: cloudy and cool. 60*F
Location: Under a rock (picture above) on a rocky hillside in a Ponderosa Pine dominated stand.

Someone please help me figure out this species! Specimens were coming in alpine meadows across the Bangtails, all past flowering. I stopped our bike train and shouted, "Peducularis!"

These harebells were white with purple speckles (not visible in the photo)...haven't seen them white before. A variant? A random mutation?
