We stayed 4 days near Chanchich river (actually known as Holmul river), at Paso Menchuga base camp. Melchor de Mencos, Petén, Guatemala.
The monitoring was inside these areas:
Unidad de Manejo La Unión (21176 ha), managed by Custodios de la Selva (CUSTOSEL), Sociedad Civil.
Unidad de Manejo Río Chanchich (12217 ha), managed by Impulsores Suchitecos.
CUSTOSEL and Suchitecos are both part of ACOFOP (Asociación de Comunidades Forestales de Petén).
