In small arroyo, andesite rubble and sand, elev 1356 m (4450 ft)
On bank of small arroyo, andesite gravel, elev 1357 m (4452 ft). No flowers open, unfortunately; five ovate yellow-orange petals without markings. Stamens and pistil fused, see photo 5.
This short herbaceous Asteraceae has alternate linear leaves and small flower heads. It has the stature of something like Thymophylla but I couldn't key it out in Allred & Ivey.
