Locally common on limestone outcrops - usually with Asplenium lyallii (examples of which can be seen to the right of this putative hybrid but see also https://inaturalist.nz/observations/148885126 for pure A. lyallii from this island). Assumed to be this hybrid on the basis of intermediate fronds morphology between putative parents A. chathamense (common on the island) and A. lyallii (abundant on the island). Another possibility is that this is a hybrid involving A. oblongifolium (one plant seen on island) but I think less likely due to frond morphology. Irrespective I have yet to check spore viability.
Low trunk epiphyte; some bulbils present. Both putative parents nearby.
