Red bluff trail, Colville National Forest
Saw 12 in a puddle on a road near a meadow. Pretty sure it's the long-toed since there's not many in the area but I'm not good at ID'ing them at this stage yet! I'm kind of scared for them since they're on a road & also it's starting to heat up I don't want it to dry up! Is transporting them to the meadow safe to do?

Merlin ID'd it as hermit thrush. Did not know they made this sound!
Visual model suggests several owls, but also a grouse.
