Continuing Skipper, can be found feeding on Oregano in the front yard in the afternoon.
Very plentiful this day for dun skipper standards. 5 specimens seen within a few hundred feet.

This rare visitor to SE BC was found in the Pend d'Oreille Valley. The sighting is included in our Pend d'Oreille Butterflies Project.
ID confirmed by Cris Guppy, Norbert Kondla and Jennifer Heron, BC Ministry of Environment & Climate Change. According to Cris Guppy, there are no records of this species in BC east of the Fraser Canyon.
It's not 100% sure which ssp this is, but most likely "kiowah" which occurs from Colorado to Idaho and northeastern WA. Western Dun Skipper populations are federally listed as Species at Risk.
