I have never seen so many in one spot
my best guess
Looks like it could be a dog print or an otter print, but the track goes all the way out on the water which makes me think it was a river otter? After doing comparisons of both animal’s prints it does look more like an otter to me, especially in the print of the metacarpal pad. It is hard to tell if there are 4 or 5 digital pads, but it appears to have 3 nails in the middle mix of pads with two pads on each side totalling 5. I am new to identifying tracks so please correct me if I’m wrong. If it is a dog then it is a small one with a very not responsible owner
Well-trodden paths used by the cottontails. There was plenty of pellets strewn about for confirmation.
This limestone rock wall had an opening under it with lots of droppings at the entrance. (The late) Dr. Don Smith, whose speciality when he taught at Carlton University, was small mammals, told us that Porcupines did that, and this was a Porcupine lair.
Ran across the street from one bush to the other. Didn’t get a photo (not quick enough) but here are the tracks.
Video and audio of a rock bass captured by a remote underwater video system. I used data from the sound recording to describe rock bass vocalizations in my paper 'First report of sound production in rock bass (Ambloplites rupestris)'. View here: https://rdcu.be/dqR6Q
