Few plants growing on small rock outcrop. ID is my best guess based on limited observation. Such a lovely plant - wish I could have spent more time with this one!
MDP 1020. Locally frequent on N-NE aspects (and only these aspects) of rocky outcropping on ridge overlooking Owens Valley. Often emerging from sheltered cracks in granite boulders into full sun. Population roughly estimated at 20-40 plants. Most past flower, with old inflorescences, or completely vegetative.
A new occurrence for this very rare and charismatic xeric Trifolium species named in honor of Eastern Sierra botanist Mary DeDecker.
