Cailloutis sur le bord d'un vieux chemin près d'un peuplement de Pinus banksiana. Plein soleil, avec Fragaria virginiana et Sceptridium dissectum. Sol pauvre. Pente: nulle, Drainage: rapide.

Unidentified small (15-20 cm at tallest) undergrowth flower species seen growing in shaded region of the forest floor of a moderately dense mixed maple, beech, aspen, and hemlock forest; magenta flowers 1-2 cm in size; two distinct types: shorter, more circular type and elongated type arranged with two circular petals at the base of a single elongated petal in a trefoil arrangement (cluster of three); ovate leaves with velvety texture, also in clusters of three; distinct yellow-green band visible near end of longer petal type; individual plants observed growing at least 30-40 cm apart and not in large clusters; no visible fruits or evidence of herbivory; ground sloping at approximately 7–10-degree angle on side of re-entrant; air temperature approximately 25 Degrees Celsius
