One of the other things we noticed while observing the quickly drying wetlands pond's bed was that one particular species of grass was busy colonizing the newly available piece of earth. This grass species was Bermuda Grass (Cynodon dactylon) and is represented in the accompanying images.

Note: The Texas Woman’s University (TWU) Golf Course closed permanently on May 4, 2018, after being in service for 80 years. Some of the trees that remain at the site are documented in this photographic series. The University intends to utilize the land to build (and expand) in the indefinite future. Surely many of these trees will be felled in the process. We also documented a few of the plants encountered in our walk and these appear after the 17 different tree species our partial survey identified at the site.
