Two white-throats
Continuing bird that has been wintering at Torrey Hills Park
This animal was found at around 4pm on March 3rd, 2019 on the lettuce lake park trail. This animal is about 23 inches in length. The color of this animal is all white in its body with orange limbs and a partially orange and black beak. Its body type is narrow and tall in stature with a very long thin beak. A key feature to this animal is its long curved beak with a black tip at the end. This bird also has black tipped feathers.

This deuterostome was observed walking the shore of the pond looking for food in the water. It is a Roseate Spoonbill, a type of bird of the Kingdom Animalia. It was observed at 5:55PM on 03/05/19. 54 degree F and 74% humidity.
Size: ~2 feet tall
Shape: Oval shaped body and long legs. Bill is long, flat and spoon shaped.
Color: Bright pink, light pink and white feathers with some yellow/orange around eyes. Legs and bill are gray.
Roseate spoonbills live in habitats with shallow wading waters, mostly wetlands and marshes residing in southeastern US, the Caribbean and South America.
Roseate spoonbills are a type of water bird with bright pink feathers and a light yellow head. The most identifying characteristic however is its spoon-like shaped bill that is long and flat.
