Description

On the upper surface of a Quercus lobata leaf.

I'm presuming this is a different color form or growth stage of the same species of gall from the same tree shown in this companion observation.

Maybe I overlooked it, but I wasn't able to find anything similar to this "white oak leaf gall" in Ron Russo's 2006 guide...nor on Joyce G's "Described California Oak Gall Species Page" or her "Undescribed California Oak Gall Species Page".

Description
