At the beginning of the road going over Barrengarry mountain. Very wide clear road, wide verge backing on to bush land. No obvious injuries…

Freshly killed on Moss Vale Road Large healthy adult male Driver of the weapon failed to stop and remove from road RIP
Mother deceased possibly night before, male joey rescued from pouch approx 12pm, 6 months old (?). Along mclennons bore road.
This joey died ~48hrs later from internal bleeding.
Mother died on impact.

Sadly it didn't make it across a 110km/h section of the Calder Freeway in Diggers Rest.
Ring tail possum. Hit by car, car was observed to drive off without stopping. Joey in pouch alive but 27g pinky and later died
I thought it was a possum but iNaturalist is suggesting sugar glider. Can anyone confirm?
