A small bird that’s no bigger than a foot with a small beak and big black eyes. It’s wingspan is around 12 inches and the wings have a striped pattern. A brown, black, and gray pattern run down the length of the bird and there are also white feathers at the tips of the tail.

Yay, nice to get a good long look at one of these in a more wild environment than the poor Tucson Reid park suburbia resident. The ruby head, rosy breast, and green back were spectacular!
