Something wandering around our carport last night. There was a plastic bag of kitchen garbage that this animal ignored completely
Scat deposited in front of trail cam
Tracks. Claw marks made when skunk made defensive posture.
Resting area at edge of lagoon. Note scratches in sand indicating twitching of long stiff tail just behind tracks.
Bird was observed on shore from across lagoon, tracks then checked after bird re-entered water. Tail drag evident upon leaving water and tail switching appears to have taken place where bird lingered for a while (see images 5 and 7 for closeups of tail switching, and image 6 for detail view of emergence from water.)
I don’t know tracks, but am starting my guess with White-nosed Coati (present in area) but other possibilities include Raccoon or Ringtail?
Found on an CyberTracker Track & Sign evaluation with Matt Nelson.
