Description

We have both Long-tailed and Short-tailed Weasels(Stoats) locally, both turn white in winter. Short-tailed are uncommon and only found at high elevations, Long-tailed are common and widespread at all elevations. Our Short-tailed are the smallest in the world, nearly as small as a Least Weasel. The large size and tail length over 1/4 the body length ID this weasel as a Long-tailed.
