After going through all the observations of Ferruginous Flycatcher (๐๐ถ๐ด๐ค๐ช๐ค๐ข๐ฑ๐ข ๐ง๐ฆ๐ณ๐ณ๐ถ๐จ๐ช๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ข) I will make note of most of the commonly seen identification errors.
Most cases of mistaken identity involve the ๐๐บ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฏ๐ช๐ด genus. I learnt about a new-to-me ๐๐บ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฏ๐ช๐ด in this correction journey, which was the Pale-chinned Flycatcher (๐๐บ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฏ๐ช๐ด ๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ช๐ฐ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐บ๐ด). Fortunately, this observation was one of the very very few misidentified 'Ferruginous Flycatchers' sitting at research grade. On the furthest end of the brown-job misidentification spectrum, a female White-tailed Robin (๐๐บ๐ช๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ข ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ถ๐ค๐ถ๐ณ๐ข) was involved with Ferruginous Flycatcher identifications.
Other birds confused due to their slight similarity was Morrison's Fulvetta (๐๐ญ๐ค๐ช๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฆ ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ณ๐ช๐ด๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ช๐ข) and a few suggestions of Common Redstart (๐๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ช๐ค๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ด ๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ช๐ค๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ด) which is likely to be poor computer model suggestions, as Daurian Redstart (๐๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ช๐ค๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ด ๐ข๐ถ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ถ๐ด) would be much more common in areas with Ferruginous Flycatcher. I can only recall one (female) Daurian Redstart which was identified as Ferruginous Flycatcher but one sleeping bird was suspect as it did not have any rufous on belly, but had rufous vents, clearly not Ferruginous Flycatcher.
