Animals/Insects Nature Walk

Today I went on a nature walk around campus. I saw several insects and animals including a common ant, a house sparrow, a few ducks, many Canadian geese, and a common mouse. I started my walk at the top of the stairs next to the parking garage and walked down towards Voute. When I got to Voute, I found an ant hill in the mulch next to a tree trunk. There were several ants around the hole, but they did not appear to be carrying anything. As I walked along the way from Voute towards my dorm at 2k, I spotted a house sparrow in the mods parking lot. It was flying and playing with another sparrow in the lot. Eventually I got to the reservoir and I spotted many birds in the water. It was clear that there were a combination of dark colored ducks, and several Canada Geese. Many of the ducks were bobbing there heads into the water perhaps to find food. My last observation was back in Voute when I decided not to go back to my dorm just yet. I found a mouse running across the floor and it scared many people. Overall, today was a pretty windy, but fairly temperate day averaging around 50ºF. This connects to what we learned in class because I was able to observe animal interactions and behaviors in the wild.
