Yesterday, about 20 swallows gathered on the power line between the house and the barn and sat there most of the day in the rain. This morning they are hunting over the fields. The Peewees are normally in the forest but have shown up in the Maple tree out front along with other birds we do not recognize. They are mobilizing for the great migration!
Barred Owls were 'hooting up a storm' last night, approximately 3am. Stella was barking back! Babies checking out their lungs???
Saw Whet Owl calling two nights ago??? If so, it was the first time we've heard it
Hummingbird in the garden tonight
2 mature Bald Eagles soared over the fields this am, coaching their fledgling.
