Eurasian Stoat (Mustela erminea)Observer
aliciawarrenDescription
Was walking my dog around Sparks Rd Wetland when I saw a stoat come out of a tussock and then turn round and go under the tussock again. The tussock was a large Carex next to a small bridge on the walking loop. Definitely a stoat, saw the face looking at me and the black tip to the tail as it retreated. Sorry no picture. Stoats don't tend to give you time to get your mobile out and turn camera on.

Mangapurua Valley, Bridge to Nowhere track. Got stung by this little wasp no more than 10mm long that caused me to fall off my bike at speed. Not a sharp sudden sting but a growing burning sensation that lasted the whole day. Following day it was itchy.

Council contractors sprayed these about 8 months ago. Got about 80% kill but then they did no follow up and now they are thicker than before. What a waste of time, money and herbicide!
