Description

These ants are very small and love humid places. When they invade a building, they like to hide inside electric appliances, wooden furniture and wall cracks, in that order.
Those pictured are eating a bait by Bayer, the only treatment we found effective to control their population.
Second picture shows the border of a 5 pesos coin. Ants are 1 to 2 mm large and less than 1 mm width. They look translucent to the naked eye on their abdomen and legs

Description

Big dead ant ID. For the smallest ant, there's another observation: https://www.naturalista.mx/observations/36603829.

The Paratrechina longicornis raided the foraging area of the Leaf-cutter ants, killing them all. This ant was carrying her "prey" upwards on a 3 meter wall. It took her several hours to complete the task. There is a previous observation for the leaf-cutter ants when they were alive: https://www.naturalista.mx/observations/36603051
-------
