Description

Velvety ruby red cap (more in appearance than feel), yellow pores/tubes, stipe is solid, yellow with reddish tones, no notable or bad smell. Stains bluish when picked and more on slicing for a cross-section - continues to bruise over at least the next 30 minutes. Growing apparently solo along the Hutt River (Lower Hutt) in the Wellington region, near/under willow trees amongst grass and leaf litter.
