Inadvertently flushed what we thought was a buttonquail, given small size, in a small remnant patch of 'grassy bald'. We then recorded this call from the area the bird landed. On review, the call sounds more consistent with brown quail. We are familiar with sighting Brown Quail and the bird seemed substantially smaller. Would appreciate views of people familiar with quail/buttonquail calls as to id of species recorded.
