Description

Resembled pieces of jelly in the sand, but when I poked it with my flip flops they emitted bright lines along the body rhythmically in response to the stimulus. Found six specimens, with more or less the same size. It was a full moon and low tide night.

Looks so much like an alien coming straight from Pandora...

Description

"Not often seen in mangroves, but in adjacent estuaries, on the shores of protected bays with gentle tidal cycles. Inhabit open spaces, exposed to full sun. (...) This Uca builds their burrows closer to the water in wetlands along the lower line of the tide. The male has the largest claw with wide, flat fingers like scissors blades."
