Bigtooth Aspen (Populus grandidentata)Observer
doughardyDescription
Bigtooth Aspen clone at the edge of a field. The dome shape suggests periferal expansion from a seedling-established tree; how cool to see this!
The sample of last year's leaves found beneath the trees average 6.5 cm (dog biscuit is 4.5 cm). This year's leaves are just emerging, even more distinctively silvery-green than the photo indicates.
Other photos shows a mature tree in profile, and at the base.
