These fish were observed from a private pond edge. Pond weeds had been eradicated in this area, and taken over by the spawning fish.

Photos of this flowering/fruiting shrub growing wild on roadside were taken in Spring and Fall seasons.

Tenacious plant, only specimens seen in this area were growing in a precipitous spot, right on shoulder of the gravel-based county road.

This tall plant, grows in very moist soil below earth tank dam, blooms in late summer.

Each photo shows 2 caterpillars, but this weathered Asclepias asperula plant held no less than 5 larvae that day.

While scouting for Monarch butterflies in open fields, I observed this mating, lasting more than 7 minutes.
