Does anyone know if this species can survive in captivity? I don’t make a habit of collecting wild arthropods, but I will on occasion for educational purposes.

What
Snake Millipedes (Order Julida)Observer
gaby_bDescription
Would really appreciate help on an ID! They top out at about an inch long. I couldn’t get them to stay still long enough for decent microscope shots (even after an hour in the fridge), but I got enough detail to see that they have sparse anal hairs. These individuals are captive, but originated in my backyard.

At first, I thought this little guy was a carpenter ant stuck in a spider web. In person, he looks almost completely black, and the colors only became apparent when I turned on the camera flash.
