Blewits (Genus Lepista)Observer
illanonlineDescription
Cap hygrophanous, going from dull beige brown to a matt creamy white with slight sheen. Broadly convex to flat with slight umbo in some. Largest approx 4cm in diameter, circular to elliptical. Gills beige, adnate, crowded. Spore print faint, white or pale grey. Stipe has probably the most distinctive feature I can see. It is not fragile, is hollow and has a flattened cylindrical shape with a central groove on one side. Length generally less than diameter of cap. Growing in park grass near bed margin with wood chip mulch, but not on wood.

Fruiting gregariously in large numbers on woodchip mulched bed.

illanonlineDescription
On woodchip mulch, hygrophanous going from reddish or dark brown to straw coloured, spores purple, margin wavy, stipe white, not fragile, bluing when bruised. Immature fruits bluing on gills.
What's interesting is that it seems to be an unseasonal fruiting if the data in inaturalist is typical. Up to 5 other species fruited prominently and more wide spread from same habitat at close by locations and at same time but this was only observation of this species.

Cap 1.5cm, white/cream. It has rough texture owing to scales/globules covering surface and giving it the impression of glistening with moisture. I think these are mature and will not open further. Stipe 3cm. Gills buff brown, white edged, adnexed. On native forest floor litter.

Waxcaps (Genus Hygrocybe)Observer
illanonlineDescription
One photo shows this specimen compared to the other larger yellow Hygrocybe observed at this location and posted here. Differs in that it has some red colouring especially at the cap margin. The other main difference is that does not liquify/decay rapidly although it did not dry out well, it remained intact for many days vs 1-2 days for the yellow-only samples. Only one example but seems not viscid, does not blacken, spore print white.
