Description

Noticeable resin glands on leaf scales is not supposed to be a character trait for this species, but neither is strong cold tolerance and this population exhibits both. Makes me wonder if there are some stephensonii genes in there as that species population is only five miles away as the crow flies (visible from line of sight, actually, once you get up on the slope here). Resin glands seem to disappear on older trees and are only really prominent on younger ones.
