Spiny Softshell (Apalone spinifera)Observer
klmockingbirdDescription
There were twelve (12) out on the bank of the pond sunning themselves! They must be variable? These don't have the facial pattern shown in references, but it's the only species that is "supposed to be" in/near Summit Co.

What
Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata)Observer
klmockingbirdDescription
I only saw one plant in an area I couldn't get to, so this telephoto image was taken with my camera. The leaves look too rounded for swamp milkweed. I saw that purple milkweed is endangered in some areas so I'm hesitant to ID it as that species.

Although I was only able to get a photo of one, there were two present. It's the first time I've had two on the same checklist in the month of June.
