Description

Azure-winged magpie. Cyanopica pyanus.

Common but beautiful bird with faded blue wings topped by grey shadow. Just as the Korean name indicates('water magpie'), the color like as if it bathed in a pond and kept the hue.

Observer

Date

Place

Description

Brown-eared Bulbul. Microscelis amaurotis.
Found almost everywhere including both city and rural areas in Korea. Conspicuous by its harsh calls, which are sometimes invariably loud. In this photo, the bulbul is feasting on a persimmon right in front of my sister's room window. They came in a heard and known to be very social species.
