What
Surf Scoter (Melanitta perspicillata)Observer
laurenraeDescription
Injured wing, maybe a bite? When approached, the bird walked towards the water and eventually paddled away. I didn't report it since I didn't have a way to safely capture and transport the bird to the wildlife rehab.

Northern Elephant Seal (Mirounga angustirostris)Observer
laurenraeDescription
I originally thought this was a harbor seal, but I think it's a juvenile elephant seal after looking more closely at the photos. Please correct the ID if wrong.
This seal was on San Carlos Beach and was acting unusual, shaking and twitching, and not using its left front fin. Reported to the Marine Mammal Center
