No idea what these are. Many had decomposed but new fruiting bodies continue to emerge.

I've gone with Postia pelliculosa after finding mention of a black variant in Gates & Ratkowsky but I'm not 100% sure. Happy to be corrected.

Up close they almost look a bit more Lachnum lachnoderma-like but they were growing on Dicksonia antarctica fronds. At a distance they appeared very yellow and were all smaller than what L. lachnoderma usually is, with the biggest being less than 1mm across.

My initial reaction was Heterotextus but looking closer made me doubt that. These were more 'gooey' than that, Heterotextus has a firm and dry feel, these were quite slimy and many were breaking down into gelatinous blobs.

Bonnets Genus Mycena

Observer

Description

3 individuals growing on a moss covered log in warm temperate rain forest. 10mm across the pileus. My initial thought when I saw them was that they were faded or weakly coloured Mycena interrupta, which are very common in the immediate area. Closer inspection showed them to be quite different to that species. If a basal disc was present, it couldn't be seen through the moss. No discernible odour.

I've put them down as Mycena but I'm not 100% sure on that.
