Any clues what this could be from? Unfortunately, the shadows make the toes look more shaped than they are. They were long and oblong (no curve in the center of each toe). The pad appeared wider than long. At first I thought perhaps a young American badger, but I'm not seeing nail strikes (their populations are growing on Mt. Diablo, where these were seen). But I unfortunately have a strong confirmation bias (working on it!). @beartracker what do you think? Thanks so much for your help!

Looks like brown witch's butter with standard witch's butter, but the orange one also looks like golden ear to this untrained eye.
