Herbaceous plant with alternate, simple, entire leaves. There are no petioles because bases sheathe stem. Not C. erecta because sheathe is open.

Woody vine. Trifoliate leaf with rachis. Large leaves with 2-lobes outer leaflets and inside leaflets are 3-lobes. Each leaflet has an awn. Fuzzy to the touch.

Bipinnately compound leafs, one foot long. Secondary leaflets are stocking shaped. Tree is 10’ tall and falling over from flooding.

Opposite leaves. Hairy. Longer hooked hairs on underside. Short hairs on bottom.

Small shrub. Opposite leaves, change angle. Smooth margins.

Basal leaf arrangement with leaves only growing at base of plant. Leaves simple and obovate with long petioles and entire leaf margin.

4 ft tall shrub. Smooth margins. Light and dark. Opposite

Stems root at nodes. Leaves are opposite, evergreen, have scalloped margins and are aromatic when crushed.

Leathery, evergreen, heart-shaped leaves that are aromatic when crushed. Smaller and rounder than H. arifolia. White variegation at veins.

Fruit is a red spiky capsule with orangish/red arils. Shrub is small with green stems. Leaves have short petioles and are opposite and serrate.

Leaves are large and cuneate in shape with smooth upper surface and hairy under undersides, clustering at ends of twigs. Buds are long and skinny.

Alternate, simple, rounded-lobes leaves with glabrous upper and glaucas underside and short petioles.

Stem is square in cross-section. Leaves opposite, strongly toothed, with quilted-looking veins. Flowers axillary and terminal verticillasters.

Single sessile leaf on stalk about 0.5’ tall. approximately 12 leaflets on a single stem. Leaflets are oblong, cut and toothed. Petiole is long and smooth.
