Appears to at least be closely related to the Blewit (Clitocybe (or Lepista) nuda), but not much if any purple coloration. Very similar to Clitocybe brunneocephala, but growing in the eastern US.

I initially thought the was an American Bullfrog when looking at the Peterson guide, but looking at the photo I now see the ridge although it is not colored. I also noted at the time that it is much smaller than the bullfrogs I used to find as a kid in CA.

In my front yard. I'm pretty sure this is the right id although this particular one seems a bit dark and smaller than most of the images I've seen on the web.
