What
Veery (Catharus fuscescens)Observer
northeastnaturalistDescription
This Veery (Catharus fuscescens), a type of thrush, was temporarily captured for banding before releasing near Camp Allegany on June 2, 1974. The missing tail might indicate a close call with a predator. Since my trip notes are missing, I used the free Merlin Bird ID app from Cornell to ID the species, but iNat's auto-ID agrees.
