Found on side of major road where they have been doing a lot of construction. Some of them were at least 5 feet tall. Long, thin and the stalks seem to come straight out of the ground. There’s quite a bit of it and it may be clumping/spreading. I think it might be a type of horseweed or goldenrod.

It was scooped out of a lake with aquatic nets. It’s clear inside with like a jelly texture. There’s a coating on the outside with an interesting pattern. We are at a citizen scientist camp, so we’d appreciate the ID!
