Another overwintering butterfly. From the looks of its wing damage it’s been around awhile. On a flowering plum tree.

First whites of the year. Several flying around the park. Didn’t see any last year.

First warm day of Spring. Found about 10 on a flowing plum tree. Several more walking around the park.

Still a few butterflies out on this cold late date.

Noticed it flying out and coming back into Escallonia bush (Escallonia rubra Red Claws?). In a small parking lot across from Cottages at Cypress.

A migrating dragonfly. Two seen.

Appears to be a Sachem. Kindly posed for me as I got the pictures.

At least three in my area.

On lavender.

A little late. Normally June and July. On lavender in front of the Lodge.

This year the dragonfly populations on Big River seems reduced so far.

First record of this butterfly on the Big River Haul Road. Most of the records are for the Ukiah area. Thought it was a Two-banded Checkered-Skipper until I checked my pictures.

Found at a small complex parking lot near hospital.
